Khaberni - In line with the vision and mission of Amman Arab University to enhance the practical and applied aspects and hosting experts in the field of renewable energy, under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Wadyan, president of the university, monitored by Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Akram Moussa, Head of the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering and the academic supervisor of the AEE chapter at Amman Arab University, the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering and the AEE student chapter at Amman Arab University held a specialized scientific workshop entitled "Energy Efficiency and Introduction to the International Energy Manager Certification," attended by Dr. Ayman Agha, a faculty member, students of the Renewable Energy Engineering Department, and members of the AEE student chapter.
The workshop was presented by Engineer Anas Abdullah, an energy expert and advisor, and a certified trainer of the International Energy Manager certification, where he discussed the concepts of energy efficiency and its pivotal role in reducing energy consumption and improving the performance of systems in industrial and commercial sectors. He also highlighted the importance of implementing energy conservation strategies through precise analysis of loads, improving lighting and air-conditioning systems, and monitoring consumption using modern measurement tools. The engineer also reviewed the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification, one of the most prominent internationally recognized certifications in energy management, which grants its holder advanced capabilities to analyze energy consumption and develop effective improvement plans based on a scientifically recognized methodology. At the end of the workshop, he provided an overview of the requirements for obtaining this certification, its professional fields, and its importance for engineers interested in specializing in the energy field.
In this regard, Dr. Akram emphasized the importance of this scientific activity for its knowledge value, contributing to enhancing the awareness and skills of the students, especially in the areas of dialogue and discussion, and mechanisms for preparing to obtain the energy manager certification. The lecture included interactive discussion sessions, during which the lecturer and students exchanged views and inquiries about the future of energy efficiency and related professional opportunities, which contributed to emphasizing the workshop's importance as a quality source for enriching knowledge and developing practical expertise among the students.
