College of Pharmacy at AlZaytoonah University of Jordan organizes a lecture on the basics of sign language and dealing with dea

Khaberni  - The College of Pharmacy at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized an awareness lecture titled “Fundamentals of Sign Language and Communication with Deaf Individuals”, presented by Professor Islam Munem Marwan Murad, attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Hasban, the Vice Dean, Dr. Mohammad Al-Wahsh, and a number of faculty members and college students.

The lecture aimed to introduce the students to the basics of sign language and the most important terms used in it, in addition to highlighting the mechanisms of effective communication with deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, especially in healthcare and pharmaceutical environments, and emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about the rights of this group, and the role of the pharmacist in providing comprehensive healthcare that considers human and communicative aspects.

The lecture included a practical aspect, where the students were trained on a set of basic signs used in daily life and pharmaceutical situations, which contributed to developing their practical skills and linking theoretical knowledge to practical application.

This lecture is part of a series of awareness and training activities conducted by the College of Pharmacy, underscoring its commitment to preparing students who are academically and humanely qualified, and capable of dealing efficiently and responsibly with various societal groups, in line with the requirements of the profession and job market.
