Khaberni - Tareq Al-Baytar, the Executive Director of the Media, Communication, Innovation, and Sustainability Management Department at Zain Jordan, confirmed that Zain continues its role as a national company contributing to enhancing and developing telecommunications infrastructure, offering the most advanced digital services, and contributing to the development of various sectors through sustainability management and corporate social responsibility programs.
Al-Baytar expressed pride in Zain's family for the achievements made this year, represented by a rich array of prestigious awards and certificates that the company garnered coinciding with its 30th anniversary since its establishment in 1995 as the first cell communications operator in the kingdom, which represents recognition and a crowning achievement for all members of the Zain family.
He pointed out that the awards the company received varied between those concerned with the telecommunications and information technology sector, such as the Middle East Technology Excellence Award obtained by the company for its regional data storage, information and disaster recovery center (The Bunker), and the Best Digital Transformation Initiative in the Telecommunications Sector 2025 from Global Economics Awards, and the Best 5th Generation Network Expansion (5G), in addition to awards in sustainability management, such as the 2025 Arab Sustainability and Social Responsibility Award awarded to Zain Jordan for the large corporate category, and the Green Buildings Certification (EDGE) granted by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) affiliated with the World Bank Group and in cooperation with (GBCI) making Zain Jordan the first telecommunications company in the kingdom to receive this prestigious international accreditation, adding that the work environment in Zain Jordan known for its distinction in the work environments of major companies and institutions was part of the 2025 achievements, where the company won the Best Work Environment 2025 certificate, in addition to the award for an Inclusive Work Environment for Women from UN Women.
Al-Baytar emphasized Zain's ongoing mission in supporting health, education, and youth sectors, and community support, clarifying that sustainability management and corporate social responsibility are integral parts of the company's strategy and culture, with the healthcare sector being one of the main sectors supported continuously by the company, highlighting its quality initiatives in this field such as the Zain Mobile Free Clinic, which has served over 259,000 people in various regions and governorates of the kingdom to date, with a notable presence this year through its regular visits to remote villages and areas, in addition to its other initiatives such as cooperation with the University of Jordan and the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development in organizing health care and awareness campaigns and medical examinations, while the clinic also participated in a vision screening campaign in the central Jordan Valley in cooperation with the Princess Alia Foundation, providing services to more than a thousand people within this campaign, affirming the continuation of the company's various programs and initiatives in the health sector and its strategic partnerships with various entities, notably the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, which has classified Zain as a distinguished donor for years.
Within its continuous support for the education sector and youth empowerment, Al-Baytar stated that more than 2,150 young men and women have benefited from free training courses in Zain's 6 centers for mobile device maintenance, electronic gaming devices, and fiber-optic technology, and 559 female students benefited from the "Women in Technology" program in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics STEM), while the number of beneficiaries from Zain's ongoing support for the Al-Amal Training Foundation reached 4,936 young men and women, and more than 170 young men and women benefited from the company's support and continuous cooperation with the Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans.
Furthermore, Al-Baytar mentioned that Zain has been involved in the renovation and repair of 7 schools in cooperation with "Lothan Youth Achievement Center (LOYAC)", and has renewed its support for the foundation by launching the "Zain Future" practical training program to provide training opportunities for students and recent graduates, in addition to ongoing support for the Family and Child helpline 110 that provides free consultations, and the company's continued support for refugees through the "Connectivity for Refugees" initiative to ensure their access to the internet as an educational and social tool, while the company continued its commitment to supporting people with disabilities by relaunching the "Al-Basma" line dedicated to the deaf, providing instant translation in sign language through tablets in cooperation with Royal Jordanian in its offices..
About the field of environmental sustainability and environmental conservation, Al-Baytar reaffirmed the company's commitment to the environment through its sustainable programs and initiatives, aiming through them to address climate change and desertification, and increasing the green cover in the kingdom, indicating that more than 18,800 forest and fruit trees have been planted by Zain in partnership with various environmental entities in different regions and governorates of the kingdom, in addition to supporting 58 farmers to preserve the environment and contribute to ensuring a sustainable income for them and their families, also referring to the ongoing partnership with the Princess Alia Foundation to support the Al Ma'wa Nature and Wildlife Reserve.
He referred to the company's initiative to launch a self-documenting system for lines, indicating that the company has contributed to reducing paper use and has managed to save more than 2.5 million sheets annually, preserving 312 trees, and has reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 170,000 kg while saving more than 2.5 million liters of water, adding that Zain also continued its support, for the 18th consecutive year, for the water quality monitoring project at 13 stations, and carried out in Aqaba 5 campaigns to clean the seabed of the Red Sea in cooperation with Project Sea.
Regarding Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC) which is one of the most prominent supporters of Jordanian youth, creators, innovators, and start-ups, Al-Baytar explained that Zain continued its support for entrepreneurship and start-ups and creative youth in Jordan through its innovation platform (ZINC), indicating that this year witnessed the launch of the final version of the startup ecosystem report in Jordan for the years (2018–2024) and the launch of the new digital platform ZINC.JO which benefited thousands of users, in addition to launching the next edition of the "Zain Initiative" program to support entrepreneurial ideas and start-ups, with total support amounting to 75,000 dinars and full incubation for a year for the ideas and start-ups that were selected within the program, while the next edition of the program was launched with support reaching up to 100,000 dinars, while sponsorship was provided to many events and workshops in the field of entrepreneurship, including the Mutah University Hackathon for Entrepreneurship and skill development programs in cybersecurity in partnership with Cyber Shield.
The number of events at the platform in its 8 branches reached more than 6,000 events and nearly 400,000 beneficiaries from the platform, while the number of start-ups incubated by the platform reached 253 Jordanian start-ups, and the number of strategic partners of the platform to 150 strategic partners.
Al-Baytar added that the company continued to support the Jordanian design sector and creative Jordanian talents in the field of design through the "Design Space" program, which today hosts 72 local designers who have displayed their work in various exhibitions and bazaars throughout the year, while the company continued its support for audio content through the "Tech Hangout" podcast to spread technical and entrepreneurial knowledge among the youth, in addition to launching the "Not Our Topic" podcast, which was recorded in Zain Studio, addressing a variety of topics in a comedic format presented by a selection of Jordanian content creators.
Al-Baytar noted that Zain continued its support for sports and Jordanian athletes to contribute to raising Jordan's name in various events and focused on supporting many sports, indicating that during the year 2025 the company provided its sponsorship to the Jordan Basketball Association to become the exclusive communications sponsor for the association, and continued its extended partnership with the Jordanian Motorsport Association, which sponsors various races, rallies, and events organized in motorsport, and also provided its sponsorship to the eighth edition of the "Jordan Riders" rally to support tourism in the Golden Triangle, alongside supporting the journey of Harley bike owners, in addition to its continued partnership with the Jordanian Association for Marathons Run Jordan to encourage a healthy lifestyle and promote sports practice for all ages, while the company continued to sponsor the junior leagues in football and basketball in several schools, in addition to organizing and sponsoring tournaments in padel sport, which is gaining popularity and increasing attendance from various age groups.
Al-Baytar reiterated his confirmation of supporting individual sports, expressing pride in Zain and its appreciation for its champions from individual sports athletes who continue to achieve achievements and raise the Jordanian flag on award podiums in all forums, referring to the continued support of Zain for a number of Paralympic athletes whose sports careers the company sponsors.
Regarding the sector of esports and electronic games, Al-Baytar noted that it is one of the promising sectors witnessing a major revolution and continuous development, indicating that Zain was early to recognize this sector and was among the first entities in the kingdom to support this sector through its esports center (Zain Esports Jo), and he explained that the center continued its role in this field by supporting Jordanian talents and contributing to the development of the sector, and organized a number of tournaments and events, the most notable of which was the Jordanian Universities Tournament, which had a participation of 1200 male and female players from university students, in addition to regional tournaments such as the Zain Esports Tournament for the West Asia Federation with participation from 10 countries, and the sponsorship of many tournaments, while the tournaments and events of the Zain center had more than 12 million views on various platforms.
Al-Baytar added that the center is continuing its support for this promising sector, as the strategic partnership with the Jordan Esports Association was renewed, in addition to establishing an electronic gaming center at the University of Jordan in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, with the aim of integrating esports into education and building digital skills, to contribute to enhancing and consolidating the kingdom's position as a regional center for esports and digital innovation.
