Khaberni - 16 people were killed due to a fire at a nursing home in Manado city on the Sulawesi Island.
The official Indonesian news agency (Antara) reported from a local police official saying today, on Monday, that the fire occurred at the "Werda Damai" nursing home and was extinguished late last night, Sunday and authorities are still investigating the cause of the outbreak.
Meanwhile, the head of the fire department in the city, Jimi Rotinsolo, said that the residents of the home, most of them elderly, were trapped inside the building, noting that three other people were injured by burns.
