Khaberni - The American authorities opened an urgent investigation after a Utah mother abducted her four children and traveled to Europe due to her fears of the "end of the world".
Reports indicated that Elicia Ann Seymour, aged 35, left on November 30 on an international flight to Croatia via Amsterdam, taking her four children with her, according to surveillance footage at Salt Lake City International Airport.
Reports mentioned that the mother shared custody partially with her former husbands, and the authorities only realized her disappearance after she missed work and stopped responding to messages, prompting them to check her home on December 2.
On the same day, Seymour left a voicemail for her ex-husband, confirming that she was with the children in France, and that she intended to obtain permanent residence there fearing the "end of the world".
Her ex-husband, Kendall Seymour, stated that the children had been kidnapped and wrote on the GoFundMe website: "To clarify: my children were abducted abroad by their mother... We did not know of their disappearance until Tuesday, December 2."
The children, aged between 3 and 11 years, are: Landon Hall Seymour (11 years), Levi Parker Seymour (8 years), Hazel Ray Seymour (7 years), and Jacob Kurt Brady (3 years).
The Utah Public Safety Department issued a warning for the missing and endangered children on December 10, listing Seymour as a kidnapper, after she left her car at the airport and left the country.
The father confirmed that his ex-wife had forged passports for the children, then left a message to justify her escape and strange behavior, claiming that her kidnapping of the children was justified due to her fears of the near "end of the world".
She also left a to-do list in her home that included instructions such as "shred documents, dispose of personal photos, throw away the phone, and buy a prepaid phone".
The authorities charged the mother with four counts of interference with custody, which is a third-degree felony, and she was issued a temporary protection order and a no-bail arrest warrant, as the search for her is still ongoing.
