Khaberni - The Kingdom is affected from the early hours of Monday, by another atmospheric depression centered to the east of Cyprus Island; the weather will be cold and cloudy with rainfalls in the north and central parts of the Kingdom and parts of the eastern regions, and it is expected, God willing, that the rain will be heavy at times in the north and center of the Kingdom, possibly accompanied by thunder and hailstorms.
And in the noon hours, the rainfalls extend to the southern regions of the Kingdom and are heavy at intervals in the southwest of the Kingdom, leading to the formation of floods in the valleys and low-lying areas including the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.
Winds will be westerly active in speed, sometimes with strong gusts reaching speeds of (80-70) km/h leading to dust raising, especially in desert areas that have not experienced rainfalls, reducing horizontal visibility, and gradually with night hours the intensity of the rainfalls decreases and the wind speed decreases.
The meteorological department in its report warns of the danger of floods forming in valleys and low-lying areas in the north and center of the Kingdom and the southwestern regions including the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, the intensity of wind speed and the strong gusts accompanying them, and the reduction of horizontal visibility due to dust in desert areas and sometimes its absence on desert roads, and from the reduction of horizontal visibility due to fog and low clouds touching the ground especially over the mountainous highlands and plains, and from the danger of slipping on roads experiencing rainfall, urging not to cross rainwater accumulation areas, and the necessity to secure airborne objects.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, the temperatures rise slightly while remaining below the general averages for this time of the year; the weather will be cold in most regions, and mildly warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with clouds appearing at different elevations, and there is a weak chance in the morning hours for light and scattered rain showers in parts of the north and center of the Kingdom, and the winds will be southwesterly moderate in speed, occasionally active.
On Wednesday, a slight rise in temperatures occurs, and the weather remains cold in most areas, and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with some clouds appearing at medium and high elevations, and the winds will be south westerly moderate in speed, occasionally active.
Preliminary analyses of the numerical models indicate that the Kingdom is expected to be gradually affected on Thursday by an atmospheric depression centered over the island of Cyprus, accompanied by a cold and humid air mass, causing a slight drop in temperatures, with the weather turning cold and partly cloudy to sometimes cloudy, and rainfall is expected, God willing, in the north of the Kingdom, extending in the afternoon hours to parts of the central and eastern regions possibly accompanied by thunder sometimes, and the winds will be westerly to southwesterly active in speed.
Maximum and minimum temperatures in East Amman today range between 9 - 6 degrees Celsius, and in West Amman 7 - 4, in the northern highlands 6 - 3, in the Shara highlands 5 - 2, in the desert regions 13 - 5, in the plains areas 10 - 5, in the northern Jordan Valley 19 - 9, in the southern Jordan Valley 22 - 13, in the Dead Sea 21 - 11, and in the Gulf of Aqaba 22 - 12 degrees Celsius.
