Bani Obaid Municipality Refers Store Owner to Administrative Governor for Closing Water Culvert

Khaberni  -  The head of Bani Obaid District Municipality, Engineer Manar Rdaideh, stated that the municipality referred the owner of a commercial store in Al-Husn area to the administrative governor for closing three stormwater drainage culvert lines with cement.
She added that closing the culvert, located between the signals of Dhofar Mosque and Al-Husn Camp, constitutes a serious and big violation of the effective regulations and instructions, which led to a significant rise in the level of rainwater at the site; causing disruption to the traffic flow, and leading to major traffic jams and congestion, especially since the road is vital and experiences heavy traffic throughout the day.
She pointed out that the owner of the store was referred to the administrative governor to take legal action against him, to ensure such actions, which harm public interest and disrupt citizens' lives, are not repeated.
Rdaideh explained that the municipality commissioned an official contractor to open the three stormwater drainage culverts that had been completely closed, noting that merely pumping water from the area was not a viable permanent solution to the problem.
She confirmed that there is currently no road closure, and that traffic flow is normal at the site, urging citizens to exercise caution and care when passing through the area.
