Khaberni - The UK announced on Sunday that it has signed a joint purchase contract worth 52 million pounds, equivalent to $70 million with Germany to acquire advanced artillery mounted on armored vehicles capable of firing while on the move, and hitting targets more than 70 kilometers away.
A statement from the Ministry of Defense said the deal will provide the British army with an early prototype of the (RCH 155) system and two units for Germany to test.
The system will be manufactured by the Franco-German defense group KNDIS and the German company Rheinmetall.
The statement mentioned that the system is capable of firing eight projectiles per minute while on the move, operated by a crew of only two, and can travel 700 kilometers without needing refueling.
