Khaberni - The Public Security Directorate has renewed its warnings to citizens in light of the prevailing weather depression not to risk crossing areas of water accumulation or flood channels, either by vehicles or on foot, due to the direct danger it poses to public safety, and to avoid driving in vehicles during heavy rainfall unless necessary.
The Directorate noted that Civil Defence teams have dealt with a number of cases of vehicles and individuals being trapped due to floodwaters and rising rainfall levels in several areas, where these cases were handled and those trapped were rescued without recording any injuries.
The Directorate also emphasized the importance of safely using various heating devices, ensuring adequate ventilation periodically, and not leaving heaters on while sleeping, to avoid incidents of suffocation or fires.
The Public Security Directorate concluded by stressing the necessity of calling the unified emergency number (911) across the kingdom whenever assistance is needed.
