Irbid Agriculture Rainfall is promising

Khaberni  -  Dr. Abdul Hafez Abu Arabi, the director of the Irbid Governorate Agriculture Directorate, said that the rainfall the governorate and all its districts experienced over the past 24 hours heralds a good agricultural season, explaining that the current weather conditions have significantly enhanced the water reserves in the soil and in the groundwater wells, which positively affects all the agricultural sectors in the governorate.
He added that field reports recorded until the morning of this Sunday revealed promising figures, where North Mazar district recorded the highest rainfall amount during the past 24 hours at 56.5 mm, bringing its cumulative total to 171 mm, achieving thus 34 percent of its annual average, followed by Bani Kinana district, which recorded a rainfall of 45 mm, and Koura district with 42 mm, and Irbid Qasaba and Bani Obeid recorded 35 mm during the same period.
Abu Arabi indicated that the number of rainy days reaching 11 days since the beginning of the rainy season until now has led to an improvement in the cumulative total in all areas compared to the same period of the previous season, where the percentages of rainfall from the general average in most districts were around the 30 percent mark, which are indicators confirm the quality of the current rainy season and its ability to meet the needs of field crops and fruit trees, in addition to their vital role in washing trees and germinating green natural pastures that greatly serve farmers from livestock breeders.
