Khaberni - In a step that reflects the acceleration of digital transformation in Abu Dhabi's judicial sector, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has launched an electronic marriage contract service through the "Tam" platform, which is a new model for digitizing procedures related to personal status.
Under the new service, which was launched last October, users can process the marriage contract via the "Tam" platform without the need to visit centers or deal with multiple systems. The process starts with submitting the application and entering the data of the contracting parties, leading to the electronic endorsement and issuance of the contract in a digital format that can be used both inside and outside the country after authentication.
Specific Documents and Requirements
Users must provide specific documents to benefit from the service, including:
• The Emirates ID for concerned parties.
• Pre-marriage medical examination.
• Passports.
• Visit visa or entry stamp for non-residents.
Fees and Process Steps
The certification fee is 800 AED, while the process takes about two working days. The service proceeds through 6 stages starting with logging in using the digital identity, then submitting the application and required documents, payment of fees after approval, booking an appointment for the marriage contract, attending in front of the officiant by available means,
and culminating in the issuance of the certified electronic marriage contract.
Conditions
The service includes a set of general conditions, such as requiring legal eligibility, authentication of foreign documents, and the necessity to submit the application by a guardian or custodian in case of diminished or lost eligibility. The required documents vary depending on the bridegroom, bride, and guardian’s status, with emphasis on the importance of submitting the application sufficiently in advance of the marriage contract date.
