Khaberni - Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine is not in a hurry to achieve peace, and if it does not want to resolve the conflict peacefully, Moscow will achieve all its objectives by force.
Putin's statements, which were reported by the official news agency (TASS), followed a large-scale Russian attack using drones and missiles, to which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded by saying that Moscow shows its desire to continue the war while Kyiv wants peace.
Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with Donald Trump on Sunday in Florida to discuss the Ukrainian issue and try to get the U.S. President's approval on the latest version of the peace plan aimed at ending the ongoing war with Russia for about 4 years.
The White House has not yet responded to a request for comment on Putin's statements.
The Kremlin earlier stated through the (Telegram) app that military leaders informed Putin during his inspection of one of the armed forces' command centers that Russian forces had taken control of the towns of Myrnohrad, Rudynske, and Artemivka in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, as well as the towns of Holayipol and Stebnohirsk in the Zaporizhzhia region.
However, the Ukrainian military said that its forces are countering Russian attempts to advance around Myrnohrad and Holayipol, describing Moscow's claims about them as false. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement on social media that the situation in the towns is still "difficult" but the Ukrainian forces are still conducting "defensive operations".
The Southern Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated on the (Telegram) app that "fierce fighting" continues in Holayipol. It added, "Nevertheless, a large part of Holayipol remains under the control of Ukrainian defense forces."
Verifying reports from the battlefield is difficult as access is restricted from both sides, information is subject to strict censorship, and front lines change rapidly. Media rely on satellite images and footage that can be geographically verified and which might be partial or delayed.
