Khaberni - WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is expanding the use of generative artificial intelligence in status updates for iOS users.
WhatsApp is rolling out AI-powered tools to create and edit status images for iPhone users, according to the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS.
The new feature integrates "Imagine" tools from the "Meta AI" digital assistant directly into the status editor in WhatsApp, allowing users to create, edit, and enhance images without leaving the app, according to the specialized site "WABetaInfo".
Instead of relying solely on basic filters, the new editor will offer AI-powered visual styles and content editing options that allow changing the appearance of the image before sharing it.
This update will enable users to apply various artistic styles, such as anime, comics, 3D style, video games, and more. Unlike traditional filters, these styles use artificial intelligence to recreate the image, allowing users to click on the "Redo" option to create multiple versions of the same style until they find the version that suits their mood.
These AI tools allow deeper modifications to the image; users will also be able to instruct "Meta AI" to add or remove elements, enhance details, or modify specific parts of the image, with backgrounds being reconstructed to maintain visual consistency.
There is also an option to completely reimagine the image using text commands, turning an existing image into an entirely new one.
This smart feature is still available in the beta version of the WhatsApp application for iOS, and it is expected to be gradually rolled out to all users.
