Egypt Decision to imprison and fine Ahmed El Sakkas exwife

Khaberni - The Economic Court in Cairo, today Saturday, sentenced the media personality Maha El-Saghir, accused of violating the intellectual property rights of European artists, after she used their paintings in a television program and attributed them to herself without prior permission from their owners, sentencing her to one month in prison and fining her 10,000 Egyptian pounds.

The Public Prosecution decided to refer Maha El-Saghir to trial after completing the investigations, which revealed that she had displayed European art works protected by intellectual property rights, without obtaining approval from their owners or the entities owning those paintings.
