Khaberni - The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced that units from the Internal Security Command in Daraa Governorate carried out a precise security operation, resulting in the arrest of the individual known as Imad Mohammad Abu Zureiq, who is wanted for justice on charges of committing serious crimes, including murder and drug smuggling.
Preliminary investigations showed that the arrested person had a direct connection with the security services during the previous regime, and used this cover to carry out extensive violations, including managing an organized network for the trade and smuggling of drugs inside and outside Syria, in addition to executing armed robbery operations.
During the investigation, Abu Zureiq revealed locations of weapon and ammunition depots in the town of Nassib, where specialized units moved to the sites and seized large quantities of weapons, including mortar shells, Katyusha rockets, anti-tank Metis missiles, machine guns, assorted ammunition, and wireless communication devices.
The Ministry confirmed that the confiscated items were seized according to legal procedures, while Abu Zureiq was referred to the competent court to complete the procedures against him.
