Zelensky Attack on Kyiv Shows Russia Does Not Want to End War

Khaberni - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that the recent Russian attack on Kyiv shows that Russia "does not want to end the war." This came right before his departure to the United States for talks with his American counterpart Donald Trump about a plan to stop the war.

Following Russian drone and missile raids that resulted in at least one death, Zelensky stated, "The Russians do not want to end the war and they are looking to exploit every opportunity to exacerbate Ukraine's suffering and increase their pressures on others around the world."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky meets with his American counterpart Donald Trump on Sunday in Florida to discuss a plan to end the war, in negotiations that have yet to yield any concrete results. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian president accused Moscow of not wanting to stop the conflict amid continued bombings of Kyiv.

On the ground, a series of strong explosions were heard in Kyiv late Friday into Saturday, while the Ukrainian military warned the population of drones and missiles threatening several Ukrainian areas.

The overnight attacks in the capital Kyiv caused a fire in a residential building, and resulted in one death and 19 injuries, with 11 of those injured being transferred to the hospital, according to city mayor Vitali Klitschko.
