Large forces from the Israeli army rushed to the area and began combing operations in search of the gunman.
A siege was also imposed on several villages in the region.
Since the morning hours, Israeli forces have closed entrances to villages and towns north and west of Ramallah.
Local sources reported that the Israeli forces closed the main gate of the entrance to the village of Ni'lin, preventing citizens and vehicles from entering or leaving.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces closed the gate leading to the village of Kharbtha Bani Harith, preventing citizens from entering or leaving, causing a traffic crisis.
The forces also closed the Atara military checkpoint since the early morning hours, causing disruption to the movement of citizens, especially those coming from and leaving villages and towns northwest and west of Ramallah, and from the northern provinces.
