Khaberni - It appears that the management of Spanish club Real Madrid will not change its policy on the winter transfer market at the beginning of 2026 unless there is a difficult and sole condition.
Despite Real Madrid suffering a decline in results and levels in the first half of the 2025-2026 season, its management does not intend to make substantial moves in the winter 2026 transfer market.
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Real Madrid does not plan to make major signings in the winter transfer market unless a major disaster occurs.
Real Madrid is repeating last season's scenario when its stars, the Belgian Thibaut Courtois in goalkeeping, the Brazilian Eder Militao, and the Austrian David Alaba in defense, suffered from long-term injuries, yet no replacements were found for them in January.
On the other hand, this policy last season gave the opportunity for the emerging player, full-back Raul Asensio, to become one of the stars of the first team.
However, Real Madrid will continue to receive offers and calls from various player agents seeking to add players to the team, but unless a tempting market opportunity arises, these offers will be rejected.
Over recent years, Real Madrid has not had a strong presence in the winter transfer market, with the Moroccan Ibrahim Diaz's deal in winter 2019 being the last of those deals to subsequently make an impact with the team.
In winter 2020, Real Madrid signed Brazilian Reinier from the Flamengo team, but he failed to establish himself and disappeared from the scene through a series of loans to Borussia Dortmund in Germany, Frosinone in Italy, and Girona and Granada in Spain, before joining Atletico Mineiro in Brazil permanently last summer.
Real Madrid will start 2026 by participating in the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, where they will face their local rival Atletico Madrid in the semifinals on January 8.
If Real Madrid wins, they will meet Barcelona or Athletic Bilbao in the final match on the 11th of the next month.
