Khaberni - The Polish authorities announced the closure of Lublin and Jeshov airports located in the east of the country, for reasons related to "ensuring the security of the state", without revealing additional details about the reasons for this exceptional measure.
The air traffic control service for the "Warsaw" Flight Information Region, responsible for organizing air traffic over Polish territory, confirmed that the two airports will remain closed to take-off and landing movements until 8:00 AM local time (10:00 Moscow time) initially.
A source in the air traffic control service noted that the closure also included "central air traffic control areas" in the region, indicating the extent of the security measures taken.
It is noted that the cities of Lublin and Jeshov are located in eastern Poland near the Ukrainian border, a strategically sensitive area given the current security situation in Eastern Europe.
The Polish authorities have not yet issued any official statement clarifying the nature of the security threats that led them to make this urgent decision.
