Egypt Cairo Airport security exposes the trick of 4 passengers to smuggle a large quantity of drugs

Cairo Airport security successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of hashish, after discovering a trick used by 4 passengers to hide the drug.

Customs officials successfully apprehended a group of 4 Egyptian passengers with approximately 11.5 kilograms of processed hashish concealed in containers of "molasses" used for smoking "shisha".

The incident details include 4 Egyptian passengers trying to complete customs procedures after their return on an Emirates flight from Dubai. However, security suspected one of the passengers, who frequently visited the airport, and upon scanning the bags with an X-ray machine, they suspected the presence of organic material inside the "molasses" containers.

Upon manually inspecting the bags, customs officials found 4 jars (containers) containing a pink substance suspected to be drugs mixed with some molasses.

Simultaneously, security stopped another passenger while he was trying to exit through the customs gate. The same suspicion arose due to his frequent travels. His bags were scanned with an X-ray machine, revealing the same drug substance, which was subsequently found by security officials.

Two more passengers were also found each possessing a jar containing the same substance, confirmed by the Drug Enforcement Administration at Cairo Airport to be powdered hashish.

The four suspects were referred to the public prosecution.
