Khaberni - Najib Abdul Razzaq, the former Malaysian Prime Minister who is currently imprisoned, was convicted on Friday for abusing power, in the largest trial to date in a fraud scandal involving billions of dollars in the government investment fund (1MDB).
Najib was charged with four counts of corruption and 21 counts of money laundering for receiving illegal transfers amounting to approximately 2.2 billion ringgit ($544.15 million) from the 1MDB fund, and he consistently denies committing any wrongdoing.
