Khaberni - Three people were killed and five others injured on Friday due to an explosion inside the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in the Wadi Al-Dhahab neighborhood in Homs.
The Syrian news agency SANA reported that the nature of the explosion is being investigated.
Syrian security forces have imposed a security cordon around the area and are investigating the matter.
Syrian officials told Reuters that the explosion might have been caused by a suicide bombing or explosives placed there.
