Khaberni - Weather forecaster at the Meteorological Department, Mohammed Siddiqi, mentioned that the kingdom is affected by a relatively long-lasting rainy low-pressure system extending from Saturday to Wednesday evening.
Siddiqi added on Thursday that the kingdom is under a low-pressure system centered over the island of Cyprus, leading to cold weather in most parts of the kingdom, according to the department.
He also mentioned that the rains during the low-pressure system will start on Saturday, intensify on Sunday and Monday, and continue through Tuesday and Wednesday.
The weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with the formation of cumulonimbus thunderclouds, according to Siddiqi.
Siddiqi revealed the areas most affected by the expected low-pressure system, which are the western strip of the kingdom as well as the southwestern and eastern regions also affected by the rainfall.
The Meteorological Department also warned of heavy rain on Sunday and Monday and the risk of flash floods and water flow in valleys, with wind speed frequently increasing.
