The artist Jihan Al-Shamashargi announced the filing of slander and defamation records against those who offended her following her comments on the metro girl incident through her digital accounts.
Jihan Al-Shamashargi revealed that she has filed several complaints of slander and defamation with the internet police against a number of individuals, after receiving abuse and offensive messages on her personal accounts on social media.
Jihan wrote on her Instagram account: "I have filed several complaints of slander and defamation in the internet investigations against people who are unable to accept differences and resorted to abuse via private messages on my personal accounts, following my comment on the metro girl incident, I always respect other opinions, but crossing the line is unacceptable, and those who err will be held accountable."
Jihan Al-Shamashargi had previously commented on the incident involving the elderly man and the girl that caused widespread controversy on social media platforms, after he objected to the girl sitting in front of him in the subway and considered her sitting inappropriate for public places.
Jihan posted a picture of the elderly man on her personal Facebook account, commenting: "We are very, very far away."
