Public Works The value of projects for 2025 and 2026 exceeded 500 million dinars

Khaberni -   The spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Omar Maharme, stated that the ministry has listed 164 projects in the 2026 plan under the road, building, and governorate administrations, with a total value reaching about 118 million dinars.

Maharme added that the number of projects under completion during 2025 amounted to about 100 projects, with a total cost of 220 million dinars, while 238 projects were completed during the same year at a total cost of about 171 million dinars, distributed across various sectors and regions in the kingdom.

He explained that the Building Administration accounted for the largest share in terms of cost, as during 2025, 28 projects were completed at a value of 113 million dinars, including projects in the education and health sectors and the execution and maintenance of government buildings. He noted that work is ongoing on 55 projects under completion at a cost of 164 million dinars, while 20 projects have been listed on the 2026 plan at a value of 60 million dinars.

Maharme pointed out that the completed projects in the building sector during 2025 included 12 projects in the education sector valued at 29 million dinars, 7 projects in the health sector valued at 79 million dinars, and 9 projects for the execution and maintenance of government buildings totaling 5 million dinars. The projects under completion included 32 educational projects valued at 73 million dinars, 5 health projects valued at 62 million dinars, and 18 projects for the execution and maintenance of government buildings valued at 29 million dinars.

He mentioned that the Electro-Mechanical Directorate affiliated with the Building Administration completed 8 projects during 2025 valued at 1.247 million dinars, in addition to 4 projects under completion valued at 1.417 million dinars, and 5 projects listed on the 2026 plan valued at 2.347 million dinars.

Regarding the study projects listed for 2026 within the Building Administration, Maharme indicated that their number reached 216 projects with a total cost amounting to 500.806 million dinars, distributed with 105 projects in the education sector valued at 213.734 million dinars, 35 projects in the health sector valued at 138.581 million dinars, in addition to 76 projects for the execution and maintenance of government buildings totaling 148.491 million dinars.

In the Road Administration, Maharme explained that during 2025, 27 projects were completed at a cost of 44.253 million dinars, alongside 41 projects under completion valued at 51.711 million dinars, in addition to listing 38 projects on the 2026 plan valued at 46.434 million dinars.

He pointed out that the total lengths of the illuminated roads completed amounted to 1348 kilometers, while work is ongoing to illuminate 2577 kilometers, in addition to executing and maintaining 200 road projects completed, and 160 projects under completion.

At the level of the governorate administration, Maharme said that the ministry completed 175 projects entirely during 2025 with a total value amounting to about 17.207 million dinars, while 106 projects have been listed on the 2026 plan at a cost of 11.192 million dinars.

He added that Ajloun governorate led in terms of the number of completed projects with 27 projects, followed by Balqa governorate with 26 projects, and then Irbid governorate with 16 projects, while the remaining projects were distributed across various governorates of the kingdom.

In the housing sector, Maharme explained that the General Corporation for Housing and Urban Development executed 12 projects in various locations across the kingdom, including the delivery of 10 apartments in the Abu Alanda project, and the completion of 4 diverse projects with a total of 306 plots, in addition to organizing treasury lands and servicing them with infrastructure and offering them to citizens totaling 2764 plots.

He noted the existence of 13 projects under study, including the allocation of 1039 plots for the Ministry of Education under the teachers’ plots initiative, in addition to the delivery of 193 plots to beneficiaries.

In terms of supervision, Maharme pointed to the fact that supervisory inspection committees affiliated with the Jordan National Building Council conducted 646 field visits covering 493 projects, during which 291 non-compliant projects were halted, with conditions being rectified for 227 projects, resulting in a correction rate of 78 percent, in addition to recording 66 complaints related to residential buildings.

Regarding tenders, Maharme said that the total number of referred tenders by November 13, 2025, reached 84 tenders, with a total value reaching about 132 million dinars distributed by 65 tenders in the buildings sector valued at 102.147 million dinars, and 18 tenders in the roads sector valued at 29.664 million dinars, in addition to one tender in the electro-mechanical works sector valued at 142 thousand Jordanian dinars.

He added that the total estimated costs for the central tenders amounted to 65.657 million dinars distributed over 32 tenders, including 28 tenders under bid valued at 52.070 million dinars and 4 tenders under study valued at 13.587 million dinars.
