Italian Business Delegation to Visit Jordan Next February

Khaberni - President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Khalil Al-Hajj Tawfiq, announced that a delegation of Italian businessmen led by Pietro Rambino, President of the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce, will visit Jordan in the coming February.

Mr. Tawfiq added that the delegation will include owners and representatives of Italian companies in the sectors of contracting, construction, infrastructure, and the food industry, aiming to explore investments and establish partnerships with Jordanian companies and to consider using Jordan as a hub for these companies wishing to participate in the reconstruction bids in Syria.

According to a statement by the chamber today, the arrangement for this visit was made during a meeting between Mr. Tawfiq and Rambino on the sidelines of the 136th session of the General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, held in Cairo, Egypt.

Mr. Tawfiq noted that the discussions included studying the adoption of Jordan as a regional launching center for some major Italian companies operating in the fields of contracting and infrastructure, particularly in reconstruction projects in the region, through establishing strategic partnerships with qualified Jordanian companies.
He pointed out that the Italian delegation will include a major Italian investor who plans to establish an advanced food factory in the city of Aqaba.

Mr. Tawfiq mentioned that during the visit, an agreement will be signed between the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce, and the Union of Arab Chambers to implement the Italian grant for Jordanian university graduates, starting from next March.

Mr. Tawfiq affirmed that the Jordan Chamber of Commerce gives special importance to enhancing cooperation with Arab and international commercial chambers, attracting quality investments, and expanding partnerships with the private sector, contributing to supporting economic growth and stimulating the business environment in the Kingdom.

The Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce serves as an effective institutional platform for enhancing economic and trade relations between Arab countries and Italy, established in 2015 with the support of Italian institutions and recognized and supported by Arab embassies in Rome. The chamber works on developing trade exchanges and investment, building effective partnerships between the private sectors of the Arab and Italian sides through organizing economic events, encouraging joint investments, and transferring technology, and Jordan Chamber of Commerce is a member of its board of directors, reflecting its role in supporting Arab-Italian economic cooperation.
