Khaberni - The Kingdom's trade balance with the United States achieved a surplus of 394 million dinars during the past ten months of the current year, down from a surplus of 879 million dinars registered in the same period last year.
According to official statistical data monitored by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the Kingdom's imports from the American market increased by 37.4 percent, reaching about 1.434 billion dinars by the end of October this year, compared to 1.044 billion dinars during the corresponding period last year.
Conversely, national exports to the United States decreased by 4.9 percent, amounting to 1.828 billion dinars during the past ten months of the current year, compared to 1.923 billion dinars for the same period last year.
National exports to the American market accounted for 23.4 percent of the total national exports by the end of last October, and were distributed across a range of main sectors, including clothing, fertilizers and chemical products, pharmaceutical preparations, jewelry, along with food and animal products, information technology services, and engineering industries.
On the other hand, the Kingdom's imports from the United States focused on metal products, transport equipment, electrical machinery and equipment, cereals, chemical products, in addition to medical devices, products of food and animal industries, furniture, iron manufactures, used clothing, and plant oils and fats, as well as wood and its products.
