Egypt The Acting Professions Syndicate Moves Officially After Reham Abdel Ghafours Filming Incident

Khaberni - The Acting Professions Syndicate, chaired by artist Dr. Ashraf Zaki, announced the first official move following the incident where the artist Reham Abdel Ghafour was filmed inside a cinema hall, firmly rejecting what occurred and taking decisive legal steps against the involved parties.

The syndicate explained that it officially requested the extraction of the cinema and auditorium surveillance footage in order to identify those who were present in front of the artist's seat and filmed her unprofessionally or without legal justification.

The syndicate confirmed that it would submit this request to the competent prosecution to take the necessary measures, emphasizing that there will be no leniency with the incident under any circumstances, continuing to follow the case until its legal conclusion.

In the same context, the syndicate stressed that filming artists or publishing clips of them without permission, and in an offensive manner, constitutes a clear violation of privacy and a direct insult to Egyptian art, confirming the commencement of pursuing pages and accounts that shared or promoted offensive content.

For her part, Reham Abdel Ghafour commented on her Facebook account on the circulation of clips and photos of her in an inappropriate manner, considering what happened as disrespect and unprofessional exploitation of technology, and calling for respect for privacy and not to use images and videos to create sensationalism.

The artist also clarified that the laws regulating the press and media impose strict restrictions on photographing and publishing any footage that affects the dignity of individuals, even if taken in public places, indicating that offenders may face accountability according to the Penal Code and the Internet Crimes Law, in addition to disciplinary action.

In its statement, the Acting Professions Syndicate, chaired by Ashraf Zaki, affirmed its full commitment to protecting its members and confronting any violations that affect the dignity of artists or tarnish the image of Egyptian art, asserting that the law will take its course against anyone proven involved in the incident.
