Khaberni - The Lawyers' Syndicate has decided to raise the health insurance subscription fees for lawyers by 25% starting from January 1, 2026.
The syndicate attributed the decision for the increase, according to a document viewed by “Al-Mamlaka”, to the continuous rise in the cost of drugs, doctors' fees, and the treatment of chronic illnesses, in addition to the increased costs of hospital treatment.
It also pointed out that cancer case coverage is limited to age groups under 19 years old and over 60 years old at the King Hussein Cancer Center.
Based on that, the syndicate's council decided to increase the health insurance subscription fees for subscribers and beneficiaries of the health insurance system by 25% of the current fees, making the annual subscription fee 250 Jordanian dinars for senior, trainee, and retired lawyers, and185 dinars for a spouse, and110 dinars for a son or daughter.
The syndicate clarified that the health insurance fund suffers from a deficit that is likely to increase in the coming years, confirming that the last increase in health insurance fees was in 2012, which necessitated this decision to ensure the sustainability of the fund and its ability to continue providing health services to subscribers.
