He added that the Operations Room will be responsible for receiving comments and inquiries from students and the local community, and preparing a daily report that includes these observations and the actions taken on them. He noted that the ministry had previously circulated the telephone numbers of the Operations Room to the directors of departments at the ministry center and the directors of education, as well as having published them for the local community on its website and social media pages: (065699916), (065692368) Mobile (0791881434), (0791881435), (0791881436), (0791881439), (0791881450) Telefax (065666492).
He reiterated the ministry's commitment to the welfare of General Secondary Education students and to enhancing a positive and tranquil atmosphere for them, pointing out that the ministry had formed teams to check the readiness of halls where exams will be held as well as the correction centers. The ministry has also worked on preparing an appropriate exam environment to meet the students' needs, including drinking water, suitable heating, ventilation and lighting, and providing comfortable seating that suits students' sizes and writing postures, directional signs, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available to assist them during the exam with ease.
He detailed that the ministry has considered the needs of students with disabilities in terms of easy access to the hall, having the exam hall on the ground floor, providing accessible paths according to their specific construction codes, and other requirements of an appropriate exam environment for each disability.
He mentioned that the Minister of Education, Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, has instructed those responsible for the exams to treat the students in a fatherly manner, and provide an appropriate psychological environment for them to take the exams with ease.
He continued that the first exam session starts at 11 AM, whereas the second session begins at 2 PM.
He noted that the ministry had recently sent out several messages and guidelines to the exam participants, focusing on the smooth conduct of their exams, among them being to arrive at the examination hall at least half an hour before the exam session begins.
The guidelines, according to Hayssat, include each participant bringing their civil ID card or passport for Jordanian participants and a passport for non-Jordanians, and an identification card for children of Jordanian women when taking the exam.
Participants are warned against bringing any (mobile phones, smart watches, and pens of all kinds) into the examination hall to avoid the application of administrative measures on those who violate the instructions, and ensuring that all exam-related materials like stickers, scraps of paper, and others are left outside the examination hall, and verifying the exam schedule, prescribed subjects, and the allotted time for each exam, and adhering to the regulatory instructions, according to him.
Furthermore, Mohammad Shahada, Director of Exams and Assessments at the ministry, said that the exam questions will be from the textbook, covering all units, and urged students to focus on the textbook and avoid study guides and summaries. He renewed his statement that the nature of the exam for the supplementary session and its procedures would not differ from previous sessions and would remain similar in pattern to the questions of the past session.
He clarified that the exam paper in some subjects will consist only of objective questions (multiple choice), except for the subjects of Arabic, English, and Mathematics which will include both objective and essay (descriptive) questions. The percentage of essay questions for twelfth graders in the three subjects will range between 40% and 50%, while it will be 30% for eleventh graders.
He pointed out that the supplementary exam will be conducted in 1249 exam halls across 529 examination centers distributed over all directorates of education, while 140 participants will take the exam in correction and rehabilitation centers and juvenile centers spread across 15 halls, with the number of students taking the exam in the King Hussein Cancer Center being 3 students.
He indicated that the total number of students participating in this year's supplementary session for the Tawjihi exam reached 131381.
He continued that the number of students not completing their graduation requirements reached 116714, while the number of students wishing to improve their average was 14667, and the number of eleventh graders was 37437.
The participants, according to Shahada, were distributed across all academic and vocational tracks, with 42274 students in the “Scientific” track, 40468 in the “Literary”, 116 in the “Sharia”, and in the vocational tracks, 3740 in “Industrial”, 2422 in “Agricultural”, 887 in “Hospitality and Tourism”, and 4037 in “Home Economics”.
He noted that the exams will continue until January 17th next year, highlighting that the number of exam days totals 11 days, of which 3 days will include two sessions: first and second.
He emphasized that the allotted time for the exam will be sufficient, assuring that an extra ten minutes will be added to each exam paper given to the participants instead of the time lost in distributing the exam papers.
He said: For this year's supplementary exam, 422 disabled participants will take part in this session, distributed across the following categories: 115 deaf students, 37 blind students, 113 with mobility disabilities, 64 with cerebral palsy, and 93 with visual impairment.
