Khaberni - Algerian star Riyad Mahrez scored the fastest goal in the current edition of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, held in Morocco, during his team's match against the Sudanese national team on Wednesday.
Mahrez opened the scoring for the Algeria national team just 81 seconds after the match started, during the first round of Group Five competitions in the group stage.
The goal came after a quick counterattack, starting with a pass from Baghdad Bounedjah to Mohamed Amin Amoura, who sent a cross to Hicham Boudaoui, who in turn set up Mahrez to shoot directly with his left foot from inside the penalty area, placing the ball in the net.
This goal marks Mahrez's first in the tournament since his decisive goal in the semi-finals of the 2019 edition against Nigeria.
It is noted that the match ended with Algeria winning by a score of 3/0, with Mahrez scoring two goals.
