Khaberni - Within its commitment to enhance mental health and build personal skills among students, the Dean of Student Affairs/Student Counseling Department, in collaboration with the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology, organized a training workshop titled: "Psychodrama", for university students, graduates, and the local community, presented by Professor Dr. Suhaila Banat, a faculty member in the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology at Amman Arab University.
The workshop was opened by Dr. Rami Hanandeh, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, on behalf of Dr. Mohamed Bin Tarif, Dean of Student Affairs. He appreciated the scientific and professional efforts of Professor Dr. Suhaila Banat in delivering this type of specialized practical workshops, and reaffirmed the importance of psychodrama as a modern counseling technique that contributes to enhancing self-awareness and developing emotional and social skills among students. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Ms. Shatha Al-Rabie, Head of the Student Counseling Department, for her continuous efforts in organizing activities and training courses that serve the students and the local community.
During the workshop, Dr. Banat provided a comprehensive explanation of the concept of psychodrama, its goals, its fundamental elements, and its various phases. She also clarified the role of the leader in psychodrama sessions, and the proper planning and execution of counseling sessions using this therapeutic technique. Dr. Banat addressed the main techniques in psychodrama, such as role reversal and spontaneous acting, among other techniques used in counseling work. Additionally, she presented interactive practical applications that covered all stages of psychodrama, providing participants with an opportunity to actively engage in implementing the activities and training, which enhanced their practical understanding and linked theoretical aspects with practical application, giving the workshop a rich and distinctive training character.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the attendees expressed their appreciation for the exceptional level reflected by the workshop due to its style of presentation and application, confirming the clear scientific and practical impact it achieved in enhancing their psychological awareness and developing their personal and social skills. This workshop aligns with the policies and orientations of Amman Arab University aimed at raising awareness and educating students about various psychological and counseling issues, supporting their mental health, enhancing their adaptability, and contributing to improving their academic and personal performance. At the end of the event, Dr. Hanandeh and Ms. Al-Rabie honored Dr. Banat and presented certificates to the participating students.
