The security spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Talal bin Abdulmohsen bin Shalhoub announced that in the framework of continuous security monitoring of the criminal networks that engage in drug trafficking, and based on information provided by the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Directorate for Drug Control, to the counterpart in the Sultanate of Oman, the Omani authorities managed to thwart two attempts to smuggle more than 200 kilograms of narcotic substances.
The security spokesman highlighted the ongoing and positive cooperation with the counterpart in the Sultanate of Oman in the field of monitoring and controlling narcotic substances.
In another related and simultaneous security operation, Brigadier Talal bin Abdulmohsen bin Shalhoub clarified that the General Directorate for Drug Control in the Kingdom, in cooperation with the Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, managed to arrest 6 residents of Pakistani nationality while they were receiving 71 kilograms of the narcotic substance methamphetamine (shabu) in the Riyadh area.

The security spokesman affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to monitor criminal activities targeting its security and youth with drugs, to counter them, thwart their attempts, and arrest those involved in them.
The security spokesman called on citizens and residents to report any activities related to the smuggling or promotion of drugs, and all reports will be treated with complete confidentiality, without the slightest responsibility on the reporter, emphasizing that community cooperation is a fundamental pillar in supporting security efforts and protecting society from the scourge of drugs.
