Khaberni - A private plane carrying the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, which is affiliated with the internationally recognized Government of National Unity, made an emergency landing due to an electrical fault before it crashed on Tuesday, according to a senior Turkish official.
Burhanettin Duran, head of the Communications Directorate at the Turkish Presidency, stated on platform X, "A private plane carrying the Libyan Chief of General Staff, Mohammed Al-Haddad, and four of his companions, along with three crew members, reported an emergency to the air traffic control center due to an electrical fault, requesting an emergency landing."
The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, announced on Tuesday evening the death of the General Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army affiliated with the internationally recognized Government of National Unity in a plane crash during his return from a visit to Ankara.
In a statement via his official Facebook page, Dbeibah said, "With great sadness and sorrow, we received the news of the death of the General Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, and his companions."
