Mohamed Salah has become the first player in the history of Egyptian football to score goals in five consecutive editions of the Africa Cup after scoring a goal that led the "Pharaohs" to a victory over Zimbabwe in the current edition of the tournament.
Salah's goal came in the first minute of added time (90+1), saving his national team from a draw, and granting them a 2-1 victory and three valuable points at the beginning of the Group B competitions in the continental championship held in Morocco.
With this goal, Salah has increased his tally to 8 goals in 20 matches he has played in the continental championship.
The Egyptian Football Association indicated on the "X" platform that Salah "has become the first Egyptian player to score points in five consecutive editions of the Africa Cup of Nations," which include: 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2025.
This record is a unique achievement that cements Salah's status as one of the brightest stars of modern Egyptian football, adding a new golden touch to his record full of accomplishments.
With at least two more matches remaining in the group stage of the current continental tournament against South Africa next Friday, and then Angola on December 29th, Salah has the opportunity to increase his scoring harvest and perhaps lead Egypt towards achieving the dream of winning their eighth title, noting that Salah lost with the "Pharaohs" in the 2017 and 2021 finals.
