Report Mossad Kidnaps Officer of Arab Nationality

The Middle East newspaper revealed this evening (Tuesday) quoting a Lebanese legal source that an investigation conducted last week points to the kidnapping of the retired Lebanese officer Ahmad Shaqra by Mossad agents due to his connections with the fate of Ron Arad.

According to the report, analysis of surveillance cameras and communications data showed that the kidnapping began in the area of the village of Nabi Sheet, where Shaqra lived, located in the Bekaa region. The investigations indicate that the kidnapping was carried out by two Swedish nationals who arrived in Lebanon two days before it occurred. One of them left Lebanon on the day of the kidnapping, while the other was not identified at any border crossing, but it is suspected that he fled illegally.

Sources close to the family of Shakur revealed to a Saudi newspaper new details regarding the identity of the missing retired officer. According to the report, the man is the brother of Hassan Shakur, a Hezbollah member who was killed by Israeli military forces in the village of Maidan in the Bekaa in May 1988.

According to the report, Hassan Shakur was a member of a squad under the leadership of Mustafa Dirani, which participated in capturing Israeli navigator Ron Arad in 1986. After his capture, the squad moved Arad to a hideout in a relative's home in the village of Nabi Sheet, from where he was transferred to an unknown destination, a point from which he has been missing to this day.
