Khaberni - The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research decided today, Tuesday, to postpone the payment of fees for the second semester of the academic year 2025–2026 for students who applied for scholarships and loans from the University Student Support Fund, pending the completion of the financial entitlements procedures.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mohannad Al-Khatib, stated that the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Azmi Mahafza, circulated the decision to postpone the fee payment to the presidents of the universities, allowing the included students to enroll in their courses without delay.
Al-Khatib explained that the Cabinet decided this morning, Tuesday, to allocate a sum of 10 million Dinars to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; to enable it to cover the fees of students who have applied to receive scholarships or loans from the University Student Support Fund, and who met the eligibility criteria.
He added that the government's decision aims to ensure that students who have received scholarships and loans can register for the second semester courses at the universities they are studying at, and to maintain the continuity of their academic journey.
Al-Khatib mentioned that the ministry would provide universities today with files containing the names of students who meet the conditions, enabling each university to identify those students included in the postponement of fees and allow them to register for academic subjects without any obstacles.
