Khaberni - The 73rd annual report of the Audit Bureau for the year2024 revealed financial violations in 29 political parties in Jordan, while no remarks were recorded on only 6 parties.
The most notable violations noted in the report varied and included the following:
Some parties retaining their funds, including donations, outside Jordanian banks, in violation of Article (25/b) of the Political Parties Law No. (7) of the year 2022.
Failure of several parties to enroll their employees in social security, contrary to Article (4/1/6) of the Financial Contribution System in Supporting Political Parties No. (15) for the year 2023.
Existence of unregistered lease contracts for party headquarters with the concerned municipalities, which is a violation of the Lease Contracts Regulation Law No. (3) of the year 1973.
Receiving cash donations exceeding 5,000 dinars without settling them through bank checks, which violates Article (24/a) of the Political Parties Law.
Paying bonuses and salaries to members of the General Secretariat and executive leaderships in some parties, without a provision in the constitution allowing that, which contradicts the opinion of the Legislation Bureau and the opinion.
