Khaberni - Israeli media reported today, Tuesday, that Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, pledged the military's continued presence in the Gaza Strip.
The official Israeli broadcast authority "Makan" quoted Katz saying: "We will never leave the Gaza Strip," despite the ongoing ceasefire with Hamas under US and Arab countries' sponsorship.
Katz mentioned that Tel Aviv would soon begin constructing settlement sites in northern Gaza Strip, though Katz did not specify those areas.
According to the minister, the new settlement sites will be established in northern Gaza "at the appropriate time."
Regarding the occupied West Bank, the Israeli minister threatened that the government would continue to build settlements, mentioning a plan to build 1200 new housing units in the Beit El settlement north of Ramallah.
Katz commented, saying: "We are at a stage of imposing sovereignty over the entire West Bank," in his words.
