Khaberni - Khalil Haj Tawfiq, president of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, confirmed that the chamber, in coordination with the Federation of Arab Chambers and the Arab-Italian Joint Chamber of Commerce, adopted an initiative funded by the Italian government to launch a comprehensive educational–training program targeted at Jordanian university graduates, enhancing their readiness to enter the local and international job markets.
He explained that an agreement was reached with Pietro Rambino, the president of the Arab-Italian Joint Chamber of Commerce, to allocate a comprehensive training grant for university graduates holding first university degrees and who are under 35 years old, to join professional and specialized training and qualification programs in Italy for a year.
This was announced during a meeting held on the sidelines of the (136) session of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Arab Chambers, which took place in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, attended by the General Secretary of the Federation, Dr. Khalid Hanafi, where a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed, and ways to enhance economic and trade relations between Jordan and Italy.
According to a statement from the chamber today, Tuesday, Haj Tawfiq clarified that the agreement is part of efforts to support employment initiatives and human capacity building in accordance with labor market requirements, pointing out that
He added that the program adopts a methodology starting from labor market needs as the starting point, by identifying required skills and targeted jobs, then designing educational and training pathways to align educational outputs with employment requirements, noting that the program combines specialized knowledge qualification and practical training within actual work environments.
He indicated that this initiative falls within the chamber's efforts to expand cooperation horizons with Arab and international economic institutions, and to benefit from advanced experiences in professional training and qualification fields, contributing to preparing qualified national cadres capable of meeting the requirements of the national economy.
According to Haj Tawfiq, participants in the program will obtain a certificate accredited by the European Union, which qualifies them to work in the global job market and enhances their employment and professional mobility across borders.
He confirmed that Italy is scheduled to receive the first batch of graduates in March 2026, marking the start of the practical implementation of the program in cooperation with Italian educational and training institutions.
Regarding the details of the grant provided within the initiative, Haj Tawfiq said it includes: covering the full costs of international travel for participants, covering living expenses throughout the program, providing a financial grant to beneficiaries, which will be determined in coordination with their universities, allowing enrollment in the program without financial burdens, within the framework of direct Italian government support for capacity building according to labor market needs
