Khaberni - Driven by Amman Arab University’s effort to enhance strategic partnerships with global and national health institutions, the university has signed a cooperation agreement with the Global Academy for Digital Health in the United Kingdom. This agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties in the fields of scientific research, education and expertise exchanges, development of joint educational programs, and organizing workshops, scientific conferences, and launching quality student recruitment campaigns in disciplines related to digital health, in addition to supporting joint scientific research between the parties. The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by its president, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Widian, and on behalf of the academy by the CEO, Professor Dr. Mohammed Ouda, with the presence of: Ms. Nadia Al-Qudaimat, the university's vice president for financial and administrative affairs, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Hweij, the dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Lubna Ghraibeh, the deputy dean of the College of Pharmacy, and Mr. Anas Kaso, the assistant director of the Department of Media and Public Relations at Amman Arab University, and from the academy, Professor Dr. Suad Ghaith, head of the Digital and Mental Health Council.
This agreement is part of Amman Arab University's initiative to build an effective academic and research cooperation system in the fields of digital health supported by artificial intelligence and modern health technologies, keeping pace with rapidly evolving global advancements, and contributing to the development of academic programs, enhancing applied scientific research, and aligning higher education outputs with the needs of the health sector and labor market.
Dr. Al-Widian affirmed during the signing ceremony the university’s pride in this constructive cooperation, noting that the agreement represents a strategic step towards enhancing Amman Arab University’s presence in the fields of smart digital health and advanced scientific research, and it opens new prospects for faculty members and students to participate in research projects and quality educational programs, which contribute to the preparation of qualified personnel capable of keeping up with the digital transformation in the health sector, linking academic knowledge with practical application. He added that the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University has recently achieved international accreditation from the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE), as the first young faculty at the level of private universities, after meeting all the requirements and international standards, an achievement that reflects the university's commitment to global quality standards and its dedication to preparing competent pharmaceutical personnel capable of competing regionally and internationally.
Dr. Ouda expressed his pleasure at signing the agreement with Amman Arab University, appreciating its academic status and pioneering role in supporting innovation and scientific research, and confirming that this cooperation forms an important platform for exchanging expertise and developing joint initiatives in various fields of smart digital health care, thus serving the goals of both institutions and benefiting society.
Dr. Abu Hweij mentioned that this agreement will positively reflect on the educational and research processes in the college, through providing quality training and research opportunities for students and faculty members, and enhancing the integration of digital health concepts and modern technology into academic programs, thereby increasing the efficiency of graduates and enhancing their professional readiness. She also noted that the college has recently introduced a master's program in pharmacovigilance and regulatory affairs amidst a scarcity of this specialization and increasing demand for experts in the field at the regional level. She affirmed that the program offers exceptional education focusing on legal and scientific aspects related to the pharmaceutical industry, aiming to train specialized personnel capable of enhancing drug safety and public health protection through providing safe and effective treatments, pointing out that the College of Pharmacy continues its rigorous efforts in developing its academic and training programs in compliance with local and international accreditation standards, and in alignment with the university's mission of leadership and excellence. Additionally, she mentioned that the university continues to introduce quality programs in line with scientific advancements, where the College of Applied Medical Sciences has recently launched a bachelor’s program in Bioinformatics, as the first program of its kind at Jordanian universities and the second in the Arab region, thereby enhancing the integration of medical specialties with digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
It should be noted that the Global Academy for Digital Health is one of the specialized institutions in developing capacities and training competencies for the young generation and health institutions supported by smart digital technologies and promoting the concepts of digital health, and aims to support innovation and build capacity in the fields of digital transformation in the health sector, through educational and training programs, implementing research initiatives, and enhancing partnerships with universities and health institutions locally, regionally, and internationally.
