Ubers Entry into Israel Stirs Anger Among Taxi Drivers

Khaberni - The Israeli Ministry of Transportation confirmed the progress of plans to allow the entry of the global transportation service company "Uber" into the local market, with expectations of launching the service in September 2026, after completing the legislations by June of the same year.

Minister Miri Regev announced in previous statements that "Uber will be in Israel," emphasizing that the goal is to increase competition, reduce transportation costs, and improve services for citizens.

Representatives of the unions threatened with widespread strikes, closing Ben Gurion Airport, and resorting to the court, demanding compensations amounting to billions of shekels, due to the exorbitant costs they bear for licenses and insurance.
