The Zambian team imposed a 1 - 1 draw on its rival Mali in the match that took place on Monday, in the first round of Group A of the African Nations Football Cup, held in Morocco.
The Mali team did not take advantage of its lead with a goal by Lassine Sinayoko in the 61st minute.
Its opponent, nicknamed "The Copper Bullets," snatched the tying point with a goal in a crucial timing, scored by Patson Daka in the 92nd minute, granting each team a point.
Bilal Touré, a player from Mali, missed a penalty in the 42nd minute, which was saved by Willard Mwansa, the goalkeeper of Zambia.
The Mali team is getting ready for a heavyweight match in the second round against Morocco, the host of the tournament, while Zambia will meet Comoros Islands, and both matches will be held on Friday.
