Khaberni - A group of 9 American lawmakers has called for several new Chinese companies to be added to the list of entities that are allegedly assisting the Chinese military, according to a Reuters report.
This request came in the form of a letter addressed to American Defense Secretary Pete Higseth demanding the inclusion of Chinese companies, primarily "Deep Seek" for artificial intelligence technology and "Xiaomi" for mobile manufacturing, and the display maker "BOE" (BOE), which is one of the leading display suppliers in the world.
The list already includes a number of major Chinese companies like "Tencent," the maker of the game "PUBG" (PUBG), and one of the tech giants in China, and the company "CATL" (CATL), a manufacturer of batteries for electric vehicles.
Although sanctions and fines on Chinese companies do not occur merely by their inclusion in this list, they directly affect the sales of the companies and their foreign contracts, as it confirms to the world the stance of the American government on these companies according to the report.
A separate report from Reuters in June stated that "Deep Seek" had assisted the Chinese military and bypassed American sanctions, by using fictitious companies in Southeast Asia to access sophisticated American chips.
The separate report confirms that the American government had previously directed several accusations at "Deep Seek" for sharing its American clients' data with the Chinese government.
"BOE" Company is one of the largest mobile display suppliers in the world, including for "Apple" phones, primarily used by various American government officials in addition to its direct dealings with "the Pentagon".
The list of companies mentioned in the letter expands to include several prominent tech companies, one of the most important of which is "Unitree" for robotics, which has now become a global leader in the sector of learnable robotics industries.
