Stemming from the commitment of the College of Pharmacy at Arab Amman University to support its students and empower them scientifically and professionally, and to enhance their active participation in scientific and research forums at the Jordanian universities level, the College of Pharmacy represented by the IEEE EMBS student branch, participated in the celebratory day events of EMBS organized by the Jordan University of Science and Technology, with participation from a group of academics, students, and specialists from various universities, aiming to exchange expertise and stimulate innovation in the health and medical fields.
The event featured a scientific program that included a series of sessions and specialized lectures, prominent among which was a lecture on the linear accelerator, an experience of a surgical operating room, alongside a discussion panel titled "The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering" in addition to a knowledge segment about designing smart hospitals and exploring the future of modern medical technologies, with the presence of several leading figures in IEEE at the national level, including Dr. Musa Al-Akhras, head of IEEE department in Jordan, Dr. Hisham Al-Muqate, head of the EMBS branch in Jordan, Engineer Fares Muqbel, student representative in EMBS, alongside Dr. Mohammad Bannat, consultant of the IEEE branch at Jordan University of Science and Technology, and from Arab Amman University includes: Dr. Mai Hawamdeh, supervisor of the EMBS branch at the university, and Dr. Israa Malkawi, head of the Pharmacy Department, in addition to the members of the EMBS team at Arab Amman University who contributed to supporting the event and enhancing the students' presence.
The pharmacy students presented pioneering projects that reflected scientific excellence and research innovation, including the Backhackers team, comprised of students Rahaf Abu Bakr and Haneen Amayreh with the project Spino Track Patch, and The Power of Three team which includes students Sondos Ibrahim, Sama Abdel Qader, Huda Al-Amri, and Shahed Abdullah with the project Pulse Medical, which garnered the attention and interaction of the attendees.
The IEEE – EMBS branch at Arab Amman University marked its presence through the participation of (45) students and (13) organizers, reflecting the vibrant student activity within the university, and the commitment of the EMBS branch to develop students' skills and promote a culture of scientific innovation in the field of biomedical engineering at the national level.
At the conclusion of the event, the IEEE – EMBS branch at Arab Amman University was honored, in recognition of its ongoing efforts and its active participation in specialized student activities. In this regard, the College of Pharmacy at Arab Amman University expresses its pride in its students and participating members, reaffirming its ongoing support for all initiatives that contribute to enhancing knowledge and developing professional and research skills among its students in alignment with the university's vision and mission.
