Khaberni - Turkey witnessed a horrific domestic crime, after a man slaughtered his wife in the street publicly, due to marital disputes and her request for divorce, an incident that caused widespread shock.
The crime took place on Recep Tayyip Erdogan Street in the Kahramanmaraş district of Adiyaman province, where the suspect attacked his 45-year-old wife, who was going through divorce proceedings with him, and inflicted fatal stabs in the chest and neck using a knife, in the middle of the public road.
During the assault, one of the couple’s daughters was injured in her hand while trying to intervene and save her mother.
Following the report, ambulance teams and a large number of police officers rushed to the scene, where the victim was transported to Kahramanmaraş Government Hospital; however, she died from her injuries despite attempts to save her.
Meanwhile, the suspect fled from the crime scene, and the Turkish police announced the start of a wide-ranging security campaign to track him down and arrest him, while an official investigation was opened to uncover the circumstances of the incident, amidst intense security monitoring of the case.
