Khaberni - The Secretary-General of the Jordanian Football Federation, Samar Nassar, said that the federation, when it contracted with coach Jamal Salami, is not looking to clinch championships, but rather aspires to an extended football project.
Nassar added in televised statements on Sunday that Salami focuses on developing emerging talents and exploring players, which was evident from the entry of new faces into the first national team.
She pointed out that the Arab Cup is an important milestone for the team, as it is a step towards the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asia Cup, affirming that Jamal Salami is a fundamental part of continuing this football project.
Nassar mentioned that His Majesty King Abdullah II honored Jamal Salami by granting him Jordanian nationality, in recognition of his efforts with the team and his professionalism, making him part of the Jordanian football family.
Nassar expressed her pride in the Jordanian public's support for the Nashama team in the Arab Cup, with the Jordanian family present in the stadiums, cheering through wins and losses, and they are partners in success.
Nassar invited the Jordanian fans to continue supporting the national team in the 2026 World Cup.
The national football team finished as the runner-up in the 2025 Arab Cup, after losing in the final against the Moroccan team by three goals to two in an exciting 120 minutes of play.
