The Amman Stock Exchange index hit a new historical record by reaching point 3506 at the end of its daily trading, peaking at this level in October 2008 and closing up by 67 percent.
The exchange closed on Sunday with about 4.4 million shares traded, spread across 3579 contracts, with total trading value reaching about 8.5 million dinars.
The prices of shares in 28 companies decreased, while the prices of shares in 48 companies increased, and the prices of shares in another 35 companies remained stable.
