Issuance of the Royal Decree Approving the Public Budget Law

The royal decree of approval for the Public Budget Law for the fiscal year 2026 was issued in the Official Gazette today, Sunday.
The government estimated the general revenues for the year 2026 in the Public Budget project to be about 10.931 billion dinars, of which 10.196 billion dinars are domestic revenues, and 735 million dinars are foreign grants.

It is expected that the Gross Domestic Product at constant prices will grow by no less than 2.9% for the year 2026, as predicted by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Abdulhakim Shibli, who expected a nominal GDP growth rate of 5.4% for 2026, adding that inflation rates will remain moderate in Jordan at 2%.

The Ministry of Finance expected that domestic revenues would cover about 89% of current expenditures, while the budget deficit after grants decreased to about 2.125 billion dinars, with the net deficit for all government units amounting to 671 million dinars.

The current expenditures for the year 2026 are estimated at about 11.456 billion dinars, an increase of 5.1% compared to the year 2025, while capital expenditures amounted to about 1.6 billion dinars, an increase of 16.8%, in a move aimed at enhancing growth and stimulating investment.
