As part of Amman Arab University's commitment to enhancing extracurricular activities and developing students' skills in various fields, the College of Pharmacy organized a field trip to the Equestrian Club (Forest Hill) under the supervision of Dr. Nisibah Al Qutaish, a faculty member at the college. This visit aimed to instill values of courage, discipline, and responsibility in students and to expose them to the authentic Arab heritage, in addition to paving the way for establishing an Equestrian Club at the university, which will serve as a quality platform for sports and meaningful recreational activities.
The visit included a comprehensive introductory tour of the club's facilities and services, followed by a field tour to get acquainted with the horses, their breeds, ways of handling them, and caring for them, before the students had a practical experience in horse riding under the supervision of professional trainers in an atmosphere characterized by professionalism, organization, and adherence to the highest safety standards.
In this context, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Hawej, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, emphasized the importance of such activities in shaping the students' personalities and broadening their knowledge, pointing out the vital role of this experience in providing students the opportunity to learn about the field of veterinary pharmacy, understand the nature of veterinary medicines used in caring for horses, their mechanisms of action, and methods of administration, in addition to enhancing their commitment to pharmaceutical safety principles in veterinary treatment. She also noted that this type of activity contributes to enriching the students' practical experience and connecting them with new professional aspects.
Dr. Nisibah Al Qutaish highlighted during the visit the importance of this experience in broadening the students' horizons and developing their personal skills, as it plays an effective role in honing the spirit of confidence, discipline, and responsibility. She noted that Amman Arab University is rich with promising student talents ready to represent the university in future local and international equestrian competitions. The visit concluded with an interactive session during which students had the opportunity to ask questions about the world of equestrianism, training methods, and horse care approaches, all in an enthusiastic and positively interactive atmosphere.
